Health is life lived
in the silence of the organs—

Had a kidney in the grass
strung out on the flash-pole.

Set my laundry out to dry
with a pin in each arm-hole

and the whites flew in and out
like some lungs blow blow blow

but I washed them on a board,
so they were really clean.

An alabaster statuette
was sticky with the weather

which was hotter on that day
than it had been for a while—

the damp shirts whistled
as they hit the serious wind

which was flashy—it was so hot,
it kept me breathing hard

in order to suck it all in.
